Railroad Tie Retaining Wall & Fence Removal Project

Red barn shed after finish grading and seeding.

For this project, we tackled a significant landscape upgrade on a small horse property by removing an aging railroad tie retaining wall and an old wooden fence. The initial structure posed safety concerns due to its deteriorating condition and steep grade, making maintenance difficult for the property owner.

Our first step involved safely dismantling and removing the retaining wall and fence while ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding area. Once cleared, we focused on regrading the steep bank to create a smoother, more manageable slope. This adjustment not only improved the property’s visual appeal but also made it safer and easier for the owner to mow and maintain.

After the regrading process, we prepared the soil meticulously to ensure a solid foundation for new growth. We then applied a high-quality seed blend designed to thrive in the region’s conditions, promoting a lush and healthy lawn. By taking these steps, we transformed the previously uneven and challenging area into a functional and beautiful green space.

The results speak for themselves—what was once a difficult and unsafe area to maintain is now an inviting and practical extension of the property. From clearing and grading to seeding and finishing touches, this project highlights our commitment to delivering quality results that enhance both the safety and aesthetics of our clients’ properties.
